Bahrain Stock Exchange receives the handover of the Arab Capital Markets Federation for the year 2022


The Bahrain Stock Exchange hosted the 47th Meeting of the Arab Capital Markets Federation (AFCM) on Monday, March 28, 2022 with the participation of members of the federation, which includes CEOs of stock exchanges, brokerage firms, custodians and clearing houses in the MENA region, where the Bahrain Stock Exchange assumed the rotating presidency of the Federation of Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul).

During the meeting, the recommendations of the executive committee on the financial statements and the auditor’s report for 2021 were approved as well as the provisional budget. The meeting also discussed the federation’s upcoming plans for the year 2022, including federation committee meeting dates and workshops and sessions to be held related to stock market activities.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Sheikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa, Managing Director of the Bahrain Stock Exchange rang the bell alongside the CEOs of the stock exchanges and members of the Federation to mark the handover of the presidency of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul ) in Bahrain Stock Exchange.

It should be noted that the Bahrain Stock Exchange will host the AFCM Annual Conference titled ”AFCM Annual Conference: Bahrain 2022” virtually under the patronage of His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy on 29-30 March 2022. The ”AFCM Annual Conference: Bahrain 2022” aims to create an enabling environment for Arab financial markets, as well as to enhance their integration and liquidity. Additionally, the event plays a key role in bringing Arab financial market leaders together with regional and international experts. The conference is expected to attract more than 600 attendees from stock exchanges and will bring together financial market regulators, brokerage firms, investment fund managers and business journalists.

On Arab Capital Markets Federation (AFCM)

The Arab Capital Markets Federation was established in June 1978 to be the governing body of the Arab stock exchanges, on the recommendation of the Conference of Arab Central Banks, held under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in the Hashemite Kingdom . from Jordan.
