SouthState adds business, commercial and private banking expertise in Florida, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina


WINTER HAVEN, Florida., April 26, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — SouthState Bank has hired nine bankers to continue to grow its commercial, commercial and private banking teams across Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Caroline from the south.

“According to the latest census data, Florida have recorded the largest net migration gains in the country, with regular immigration expected to continue in the coming years. We continue to see significant demand for corporate and business banking services in Floridaand we responded by adding four bankers to the Sunshine State in this quarter alone,” said Greg Lapointe, bank manager. “Additionally, SouthState continues to add top revenue producers and talent across Alabama, Georgia and Caroline from the southas we support our plans for continued growth.”

Bankers joining the SouthState team this quarter include:

Dale Ingle – commercial real estate banker, Tampa, Florida – joined SouthState from Truist and its predecessor BB&T. He has over 22 years of experience in CRE financing both in the Atlanta, Georgia and the Tampa, Florida markets, and his CRE finance experience includes roles in commercial banking, as well as private business development.

Sean Murphy – commercial banker, Central Florida – has over 25 years of experience serving respected financial and consulting brands in various leadership roles, including Truist, Deloitte, Citigroup and Amex. Murphy served nearly a decade in the Florida National Guard.

Lisa Peterson – commercial banker, Daytona, Florida – brings over 30 years of banking experience to his role at SouthState, including experience in commercial lending, private banking, corporate banking and consumer banking with Améris BankFifth Third Private Bank, PNC and TD Bank.

Doug Weiner – commercial real estate team leader, Central Florida – Joins SouthState from Truist, where he was Director of Central Florida CRE. He has over 25 years of commercial credit and commercial real estate finance experience which he brings to this position, including experience at Seacoast Bank, CNL Bank and Wells Fargo.

Mark Smith – director of the private bank, birmingham, Alabama – comes from Hancock Whitney, where he was director of wealth management. With over three decades of banking and wealth management expertise, including roles at BBVA UNITED STATES and regions, Smith will be responsible for managing private banking in Alabama to the Southern State.

Quinn Baldree – city executive, Northern Beaufort County, SC – brings over 16 years of banking industry experience to the role of City Manager. For the past four years, he has served as Regional Manager and Commercial Banker at Truist. He also previously held commercial banking positions at TD Bank.

Meg Beveridgecommercial real estate banker, Atlanta, Georgia – has over 20 years of banking and capital markets experience as a real estate lender and CFO of a large industrial property developer based in Atlanta. Prior to her banking career, she spent several years in public accounting.

Jim Yantis – commercial banker, Gainesville, Georgia – brings more than 17 years of experience in corporate and personal banking, as well as regional leadership, to his role at SouthState. He was until recently Director of Banking Relations with City National Bank in Atlanta, Georgiaand he also held regional manager and merchant banking positions with Fidelity Bank and Synovus, respectively.

Andy Crouseinvestment banker, Rock Hill, Caroline from the south – joins SouthState from Wells Fargo, where he held corporate banking relationship management roles for four years. He has extensive sales and leadership development skills from his roles at Wells Fargo.
